Application record on the occasion of the coveted industry prize
From May 2 to 6, 2017, over 300 exhibitors will present new solutions for the metal packaging sector at METPACK at Messe Essen. On the second day of the fair, Messe Essen will honour the best products with the METPACK Innovation Award in Gold, Silver and Bronze. The international jury will focus on those new products at the fair which improve quality and lower costs to a particular extent. With 26 applications, Messe Essen has received as many applications as never before. For the worldwide sector, the METPACK Innovation Award is an important indicator for its innovative force. Furthermore, it is a valuable instrument and seal of quality in customer communication.
In 2014, the Spanish company Matriruiz received the METPACK Innovation Award in Gold for the Spider Head Liner, a delta robot for the production of can ends. The jury chose the Spider Head Liner because it introduced the delta robot technology into the manufacture of metal packaging at that time and thus met the expectations of industry with regard to higher flexibility in production. Due to quick and easy adjustment to different end shapes, the Spider Head Liner reduces conversion times and production costs.
Reunion with the Past Winners at this Year's METPACK
The METPACK Innovation Award in Silver went 2014 to the German supplier of printing and painting lines KBA-MetalPrint for the HighEcon dryer. The energy-efficient drying oven for painted, extremely thin metal sheets permits optimised utilisation in the thin metal sheet range due to the innovative change in the air guidance. The Swiss Soudronic Group received 2014 the METPACK Innovation Award in Bronze for its Soucan 2075 AF. The welding machine for the manufacture of light food cans processes thin metal sheets in a particularly environmentally friendly and quick method. There will be a reunion with the past winners at this year's METPACK: Matriruiz, KBA-MetalPrint and Soudronic will await the visitors in Hall 3, once more as exhibitors.
