Award ceremony in the categories bronze, silver and gold on May 3rd
The METPACK Innovation Award is one of the highlights of METPACK 2023. For the ninth time, Messe Essen will use it to honor groundbreaking further developments and technical innovations that exhibitors present at the world's leading trade fair for metal packaging from 2nd to 6th May. Never before have there been so many entries as this year. An independent expert commission will decide who will receive the coveted Innovation Award. The trophies will be awarded in the bronze, silver and gold categories.
Innovation value, resource savings and quality improvement are the decisive criteria for the evaluation. On the evening of the first day of the trade fair, the seven-member jury of trade visitors will then make its decision on the METPACK Innovation Award 2023, which will remain a well-kept secret, even for the winning companies, until the award ceremony the next day at 2 p.m. in the Panorama hall of the Congress Center West. 19 exhibitors entered a total of 31 innovations in the run-up to the show. This is a new record. By comparison, 26 applications were received for the last METPACK in 2017 –also a record six years ago.
These were the winners of METPACK 2017
"The great response to the award makes us proud, as it underlines the importance of METPACK as the world's leading trade fair and the innovative strength of the industry. We already say thank you to all applicants!", explains Christina Kleinpaß, METPACK Project Manager. In 2017, PrintabLED received the METPACK Innovation Award in Gold for the novel UV-LED curing devices of the PrintabLED product range. Koenig & Bauer MetalPrint GmbH won the silver award for its "CS MetalCan" development. Bronze went to Valspar for the "valPure V70 non-BPA epoxy" coating series.
